What is Gloucestershire Carbon Watchers?

Our family has signed up for the pilot scheme of Gloucestershire Carbon Watchers, so this will be a site for me to track our progress and to share our experiences with others.

"Carbon Watchers" was set up by Gloucestershire county council and the Severn Wye Energy Agency (SWEA). It's aim is to help 30 families around the county reduce their footprint. Although I think 40 families have signed up.

Over the next 12 months, we'll be getting tips and advice along with meetings and support to reduce our carbon footprint. If the pilot is successful, it will lead to the development of a DIY carbon watchers kit being produced for all householders in Gloucestershire to help them reduce their carbon footprint.

We have a reasonable amount of knowledge already about our carbon footprint, but there is always room for improvement. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in to see where we can save energy.
